Exhausts

Every now and then your exhaust needs replacing. The harsh weather and salt on the road lead to the exhaust deteriorating and splitting. Unfortunately, there's nothing that you can do to prevent this apart from buying quality exhausts.

We offer full exhaust system repair and replacement on most makes and models at very competitive prices at our workshop just outside Canterbury. Our technicians can check for cracks, leaking joints, broken hangers, worn rubber mountings, corrosion, and other damage or wear.

We can also carry out full vehicle emissions testing to ensure you meet the legal limits to help diagnose any issues with your exhaust system and catalytic converter.

A healthy exhaust system also helps minimise your vehicle emissions.  This of course is becoming more and more important as measures are taken to try and stem rising levels of air pollution.

Checking Your Exhaust

We recommend having your exhaust checked on a regular basis. We suggest perhaps once a year or every 10,000 miles or so. This will help to spot any damage early on so it does not cost as much if it needs replacing or repairing.

Some signs you may have a problem with your exhaust system include:

• Loud, roaring noises whilst driving may signify that you have holes and/or cracks in your exhaust system that will need attention
• Persistent rattling noises whilst the car's engine is running could point to faulty or missing brackets or connectors holding the exhaust system in place under the car
• Rhythmic, chugging sounds from the exhaust system while driving would suggest that there is a blockage within the system impairing its effectiveness
• A low, hissing noise - akin to the sound of a boiling kettle - may be indicative of a cracked gasket, pip or even the engine manifold
